October 2022

October 1st: Time to shut off water outside but our hole got filled in...so this is what Chris came up with to get the dirt out! very clever haha

October 6th: McKay's costume was delivered, he loves it! Also I am making leggings for Jackson's costume! I went to DI to find some pants and couldn't find any but instead found the perfect color in a pj top...so i did a lot of unpicking and sewed it into some pants! Turned out great! Also made some little feet!

December 7th: Took the kids with me to run 11 miles! This is the furthest that they have ever rode their bikes! They did awesome! Saw a snake on our way too! Once we got back home we quickly packed and picked up Chris on our way down to Kanosh to take some pictures for the Nielson family! We got there late and the sun was setting fast so we weren't able to take them in the canyon with all of the red leaves like we originally wanted, but still got some good pictures! We then had a tin foil dinner in the dark! Afterwards we went and spent the night and Jenell's house. It was all a little chaotic but still fun!

October 8th: I have been wanting to take the kids up to the teeter totter up Meadow Canyon. This was something that I have done often when I was young. The kids all had fun riding in the back of the truck with Luke. Once we got up there we played on the teeter totters, which the kids thought was super cool. We then had lunch and roasted some marshmallows for s'mores!

October 13th: I started making our Jurassic Park arch! While I was outside making it McKay kept riding down to Ralphs house to hang out with him! He loves Ralph...he gives him treats and they can talk to each other all day! haha so cute! Whenever I can't find McKay, good bet is that he is at Ralphs house!

October 15th: Chris went running up the canyon and came back very dirty! 

Caden has been doing awesome with Basketball! Usually has a game about once a week! We are seeing so much improvement! 

October 15th: I took Catherine with me on my 10 mile run! She is so tough! I love that she wanted to go with me! We are so strong! That evening we took our whole family to go mini golfing! The kids had a lot of fun with it and are getting a little better! A little difficult with Jackson because he is so so busy!

October 18th: finished the arch! Just in time for our ward trunk or treat party! Loved how it all came together! Not only did our family look awesome but I then was able to turn around and sell the arch for $50!! 

October 19th: Spirit week! Today is tie-die day! We let them wear our team Drew shirts! The next day was crazy hair day! We put spiders in Catherine's hair. Caden took his hair out of the elastics as soon as he got to school haha he felt ridiculous! 

October 19th: After taking the older kids to school I then took McKay to his field trip to Gardner Village to find all of the witches! McKay had a lot of fun with this!

October 21st: We drove down to Springville to go to Jaker's pumpkin patch! The kids had a lot of fun playing in the corn, going down slides, petting the animals, going through the corn maze, and having cotton candy as we ride on the hayride! We then drove up Provo canyon to ride our bikes down! A very fun activity that our whole family enjoys! Very fun to get outside and enjoy all the fall leaves! 

October 24th: Our first snow of the year! Catherine has been playing a lot with Annie and Andie. Annie is a only child and so when Catherine gets invited to play with her it is usually going to fun things. Andie's mom just had her baby so we have been trying to have the kids come over to our house a lot! 

October 27th-29th: For our fall break we decided to get an Airbnb up at Bear Lake. Unfortunately a storm was coming through so it was super cold outside! So we decided to take the kids to a live aquarium on our way up! It was so much fun to feed all the animals and fish! Catherine and I quite enjoyed putting our hands in with the nibbling fish...it tickled so much! At first Catherine was so scared but then she loved it! They all enjoyed feeding the birds...except for Caden! Afterwards we drove to a park to quickly have lunch...it was so cold. We then drove the rest of the way to Bear Lake. Once we got there the kids were very excited to explore around and then get in the hot tub! We drove down to the lake to go for an exploration walk. That night we made our own dinner, watched a movie and then went to bed. After kids were in bed then Chris got to relax in the hot tub! The next day started by walking down to the lake to look around and then we rode our bikes to a Mexican restaurant where we met up with Mat and Elise! After eating I took the kids back to the cabin while Mat and Chris went fishing for a couple of hours! Again the kids had so much fun in the hot tub...they played in there for a few hours! They then came inside and we watched a movie until the boys came back. The rest of the night was just relaxing. The next morning Matt left early and once we got the whole cabin cleaned and truck packed up we then drove straight to Aunt Linda's house for our Annual Pumpkin Celebration. We had pizza and yummy food, carved our pumpkins that we got from Jaker's Farm, and of course the Pumñata! We love this tradition! Once of our favorite holidays! Caden and Chris won the pumpkin toss, I was a close 2nd! I was also thought to have won the guess of the weight of the pumpkin to only have that taken away from me! haha What a fun weekend for our family! 

Caden hurt his foot while playing at a trampoline place with his friend. This is a week later! I eventually took him in to see if it was broken...which it wasn't! 

October 31st: Happy Halloween!!! All of the kids were very excited to dress up for school! That evening the Clayton's came over for dinner and go trick or treating. For dinner we had witches fingers and worms in blood and eyeballs! haha the kids got a kick out of it! Trick or treating was a success. Jackson Absolutely loved...especially when he got a succor! The kids favorite part is probably the sorting of their candy afterwards!
