August 4th: Jackson went in for his 15 month Dr. Appointment. Weight: 23.5 (58%), Height: 31.75 (63%), Head: 14.6 (44%).
August 8th: McKay's first day of tumbling! This class is just once a week and he is with Benji and Mylo! Fun class for him to get some energy out! haha In celebration of school starting we decided to walk over to Nielson's Frozen Custard to get some ice cream!
August 10th: The kids really wanted to make some zucchini bread and try and sell it! They actually had great success with some help of very generous people in the ward! We did decide to give our last one to the Anderson's in light that Abby is pregnant and would probably enjoy it! Come to find out that Andi snuck off with it and was eating the whole bread! haha
August 11th: We had Benji over for a couple of hours that morning to let them play! They are starting to play so well together! yay finally! That evening at 5:30-6:30 Catherine started her first day of soccer! She is doing it with Andi and she is so excited! I think she will be a natural! Can't wait!
August 12-13th: We finally took our kids on a family camping trip! We needed redemption from our last failed camping trip when McKay through up a couple times in the tent late at night! This trip was a lot of fun! We drove up to Current Creek Reservoir and camped at a camping site close to the lake! This was Jackson's first time and he loved it and actually slept pretty well! It got a little chilly at night but it felt great for sleeping! When we first got there we got our camp site set up with all of our tents, had some hot dogs and then went and attempted to kayak on the lake. As soon as we got to the lake and got all set up the weather started looking like it was going to rain. So we packed them all back on the truck and went back to camp. Right when we got back it started down pouring!! Good thing we had our tents already set up! There was lightning and the kids all huddled into the big tent...quite exciting! After the rained stopped I was able to get Jackson down for naps while the others went on an adventure hike to the lake with Chris. As soon as Jackson was done taking a nap we all went to the lake to do some fishing! We all caught fish but they were all no bigger than maybe 5 inches haha. Just babies, but Caden caught a bunch and the kids were all having a good time regardless of the size! That night we made a fire and roasted marsh-mellows, told some stories, and sang songs...Mostly "We are young, we'll start the start the world on fire, we'll go higher...." McKay loves that song! We then all went to bed and slept good! Caden and Catherine were in the smaller tent and loved it! In the morning we made a special breakfast of pancakes and sausage and then cleaned up and went down to the lake to kayak. Jackson only last like 2 minutes on the kayak! So I decided to take Catherine with me and Jackson to go on a little hike. McKay sat with Chris on his Kayak and Caden had his own. The were out on the lake for probably 1-2 hours. No luck catching anything unfortunately! Catherine and I had a lot of fun hiking and exploring. We found a path that took us over the stream and it really was an adventure to get through and Jackson was quite the trooper! We made it over to the dam and had a little snack and then hiked back. Made it back at the same time as the boys! We then went back to camp to pack up and have lunch before heading home. We got everything and everyone in the truck right when it started to rain again, perfect timing! Fun little camping trip, we wish we would have done two nights! That night when we got home Catherine lost another tooth! yay!

August 14th: Still doing piano lessons with the kids! Caden is picking up on it so well! Catherine is also doing really well! So glad we got a piano to be able to teach them!
August 17th: The day before school started we invited Andi and William to come over! These kids are fun together. Andi and Catherine were doing tumbling outside all afternoon. They are so good with backflips and a bunch of other tricks on the grass! Super impressive!

August 18th: First Day of School! Catherine is in 2nd Grade with Mrs. Snow (super excited that we got her, because that is who Caden had). Caden is in 4th Grade with Mrs. Oakson (she is new but she seems like she will be great). The kids were excited to go back to school to see all of their friends! And I was excited too until I realized that I really miss my mini mommy Catherine! She was always so good at helping me out with Jackson. Well once they were at school I heard the piano going only to find that Jackson had pulled himself up to play. I took him down and brought him into the kitchen with me while I was doing dishes. Couple minutes later I heard the piano again and McKay was yelling at me all excitedly saying "Mom look what Jackson can do!" I went back in there to find Jackson On Top of the piano this time! Oh man, Catherine come home, mommy misses you! haha McKay was no help! Anyway there first day of school went really well! Catherine absolutely loves her teacher! That evening we went to Matt's house to celebrate Elise's birthday! Chris parents were there and are planning on coming to our house for the weekend!

August 20th-22nd: Chris is a potato farmer and so proud! haha Also Chris's parents came on saturday. When they got there they took Caden to go out for lunch and birthday shopping! Caden has been looking forward to this for months! When they got back they all went out to the movie theater while I stayed home with Jackson during his nap! Sunday we just hung out with them after church for the rest of the day! They brought lots of peaches so we had peach cobbler and just had fun with them. The kids loved showing off on the piano to them. Catherine of course had grandma playing barbies for the good majority of time and Caden had grandpa helping him set up the train lego set that he picked out from his birthday shopping. They left on Monday morning!
August 22nd: I went and picked up this fish tank for free! Got it all cleaned up and looks great! I also found a better piano for free and got the guys to switch it out as well!

August 26th-27th: Chris took work off and Caden didn't go to school on a Friday so that they could go on a backpacking trip! Matt went with them as well! They went to Wisky Island. It was about a 2 1/2 mile hike in, perfect for Caden's first time! He absolutely loved every minute of it! Caden has set up his own YouTube channel called Nothing But Net. So he was excited to take a bunch of videos to put on his channel! Caden caught a bunch of fish by himself and was even taking the hook out by himself too! One of the times that Caden was filming himself he decided to go fish by himself and he caught on camera himself catching a fish and reeling it in...He caught it in the eye! haha The next day they hiked out and went to a different lake caught some more fish. Then they made their way to touristy waterfall before heading home! I just love how they were able to go and do this and have so much fun!
August 28th: We invited Matt and Kaitlin over for dinner. So fun to see these kids together!
August 30th: I offered to take Abby's dog with us on my 5 mile run! He did pretty well, but was for sure exhausted by the time we got back! I will most likely be taking him on more runs with us! It is helping Abby out because she is pregnant and isn't able to do it! I am training for a half marathon so why not take him.
